Review a car’s recorded service and maintenance history

Service history can show how a vehicle was maintained over time. Recorded oil changes, inspections or repairs may provide useful context, but the information available depends on which businesses and other sources reported the work. A history report is not a complete maintenance log.

Look at dates, mileage and descriptions together

Read each service entry alongside its date and odometer reading. Look for a consistent timeline and compare it with receipts provided by the seller. An entry such as a service visit may not list every operation performed. If a specific repair or replacement matters to your decision, ask for the corresponding invoice instead of assuming it was included.

Understand gaps in the record

Independent shops, owner-performed maintenance and other work may not appear in a report. A gap is a reason to ask questions; it is not, by itself, proof that maintenance was skipped. Conversely, several service entries do not guarantee that every manufacturer-recommended task was completed.

Use receipts and inspection results alongside the report

Ask the seller for dated invoices showing the VIN, mileage, work performed and parts used. Compare those documents with the report. For a vehicle with a known upcoming maintenance requirement, have a qualified mechanic assess its current condition and refer to the vehicle manufacturer’s maintenance schedule.

保养记录、维修记录与维护历史

报告可能展示已上报的保养及维修记录。可对照时间、里程、项目描述和卖方提供的维修发票;未显示的项目不一定没有做过,显示过保养也不代表所有维护项目均已完成。
